High Performance

Technical Specifications - Structural Insulated Panel (SIPs) Building Systems

Innovaré Systems provide a fully integrated i-SIP structural insulated panel building system to create a robust and sustainable building envelope with high thermal performance, including all external walls and internal load-bearing and non load-bearing partition walls, party walls, floor cassettes and roof system.

External Wall System
  • i-SIP structural insulated panels are bespoke to the structural and thermal requirements of each building. Each i-SIP panel is designed, engineered and manufactured including all apertures and additional supports (where required) to ensure the highest quality

  • Large format i-SIP panels are available up to 6 metres long to offer a rapid build programme. A complete SIPs house for example may be assembled with just 12 i-SIP structural insulated panels. All i-SIP panel joints have a factory fitted male stud that fits smoothly with a corresponding female joint

  • Innovaré recommends the use of GTEC Megadeco internal drylining that combines a very good fire resistance performance and requires no wet skim finishing, further reducing the need for post construction remedial work

  • i-SIP technology suffers no post construction ´drop´, therefore no allowance is required for movement differentials between the structure and the external finishes

1. External wall system

  • 162mm to 307mm. U-values of 0.23 to 0.11 w/m²k
  • U-value calculations to BS EN ISO 6946
  • 30 minute fire resistance for 162mm overall i-SIP panel thickness, plus finishes
  • BS EN 13163 confirms that expanded polystyrene (EPS) does not have any loss of thermal performance over time
  • 11mm oriented strand board Type 3 (OSB/3) BS EN 300
  • 60 minute fire resistance of 162mm overall i-SIP panel thickness, plus factory fitted internal lining board and 15mm GTEC Megadeco plasterboard on timber battens as internal drylining

2. Party wall system

  • Sound test results for i-SIP panel exceed Building Regulations by 9% (4dB) and achieve 49 DNTW + CTR dB. Compliance route post completion sound tests (PCT)
  • 60 minute fire resistance at 332mm overall party wall construction
  • U-value 0.12 w/m²k party wall construction reduces heat loss to neighbouring properties
  • 11mm oriented strand board Type 3 (OSB/3) to BS EN 300

3. Floor cassettes

  • Finished in either P5 chipboard, plywood or OSB/3 to suit client requirements
  • Upper floors can be designed to accommodate the future installation of a ceiling hoist to a maximum load of 1.5Kn
  • Metal web beams allow easy access for services and ventilation ducting and is available in spans up to 5.2 metres
  • I beams are suitable for projects requiring longer spans up to six metres
  • Hollowcore concrete is available in five metre spans where non timber floors are preferred and delivers the benefits of thermal mass

4. Roof system

  • Pitched warm roof insulated i-SIP panel 131mm to 195mm thick with EPS low lambda core for roof pitches of 15° to 70°
  • U-value 0.24 to 0.16 w/m²k
  • No ventilation required
  • Purlin design to BS6399 pt 3 1998
  • Truss roof option available
  • Flat roof cassette option available
  • Bespoke pitched warm roof i-SIP panels available for roof pitches of 0° to 70°
